Cape Churchill is a land of frozen sunlight, where the sun barely rises each day and casts long, cool shadows across the frozen tundra. Here you will find the impatient polar bears who must wait for the sea ice to form and provide their opportunity to hunt seals. In Polar Dawn I have captured the depth and isolation of the hungry polar bear juxtaposed against the stark contrast of the stunning, frozen landscape. John Banovich, Artist/Conservationist
